Typical sessions

I aim to support the learning done in school by checking current topics have been fully understood.  Develop problem solving skills and ensure students have solid foundation of knowledge.  I use the junior maths challenge problems or 10 quick questions geared to each age group to check which topics need review. 

An important skill for students is to learn to revise effectively. I aim to help students revision and review techniques by creating revision materials. Regular exam questions to develop exam technique and how to ensure maximum marks are achieved.  Topic based exam questions to deepen and strengthen each individual topic.  Past paper and problem solving questions as sometimes the hardest thing is to work out which topic the question is on.

A Level sessions are about strengthening and supporting each individual students own independent learning.  Helping each student to learn about their own mathematical abilities and strengthen them.  I use a combination of exam questions and topic based questions to build up a complete understanding of each individual topic.

I have taught maths for over 15 years so I have many different methods so we will find one that makes sense to you.  I can break down topics into parts that you can understand.  My aim is to make students confident in maths, it isn't that bad and I am sure I can help make it easier.

For more able students I find questions that challenge students and deepen their knowledge.  Problem solving and wordy questions that make you think and ensure you have to think!

I know the importance in revision and regular review and so many times it is a difficult task for many students.  I help to develop an individual students own revision skills and together we keep trying to find a method that works.
